QuoteKit vs Jobber - Which Is Right for Your Service Business?

QuoteKit and Jobber are both used by service businesses but they do very different things. This comparison explains what each tool is actually for and which one your business needs.

The short answer

QuoteKit and Jobber are not really competing products. They do different jobs.

QuoteKit is a customer-facing quoting tool. It sits on your website and lets visitors get an instant price and request a booking without calling you. Its job is to turn website visitors into leads.

Jobber is an internal operations tool. It helps you schedule jobs, dispatch staff, send invoices and manage customer records. Its job is to run your business more efficiently once you have the customers.

Many service businesses end up using both - QuoteKit to capture the initial enquiry, Jobber to manage the job once it is booked.

What QuoteKit does

QuoteKit adds an instant quote calculator to your website. A customer visits, fills in their job details and gets a price in seconds. Their name, email and phone are captured automatically. They can request a booking date. You get an email notification immediately and the lead appears in your dashboard.

It handles multiple pricing types - fixed price, hourly rate and distance-based pricing using Google Maps road distance. You can add optional extras, automatic surcharges for evenings and weekends, and a booking calendar for confirmed jobs.

The dashboard is a lightweight CRM - track lead status, confirm or decline bookings, record what jobs paid and export your lead history. It is not a full field service management system and does not pretend to be.

QuoteKit starts from £19 per month billed annually.

What Jobber does

Jobber is a full field service management platform. It handles scheduling and dispatching, customer records, quoting and invoicing, payment collection, GPS tracking for field staff and reporting.

It is designed for businesses with multiple staff members doing multiple jobs per day. The scheduling and dispatch functionality is particularly strong - you can see where all your staff are, assign jobs and track completion in real time.

Jobber does have a customer-facing quoting feature where you can send formal quotes to customers. However, this is an outbound process - you generate the quote and send it. The customer does not get an instant price by visiting your website. Jobber is not designed to capture inbound website visitors.

Jobber pricing starts from around £35 to £60 per month depending on the plan, with higher tiers for more features and users.

Where they overlap

Both tools have a quoting feature and a jobs or leads dashboard. The overlap is superficial. Jobber quotes are formal documents you send after assessing the job. QuoteKit quotes are instant prices customers get themselves from your website. They are solving different parts of the same process.

Which one should you use

If you are a sole trader or small team trying to get more leads from your website without answering the phone constantly, QuoteKit is the right starting point. It is affordable, quick to set up and directly addresses the most common reason service businesses lose work - customers not being able to get a price quickly enough.

If you have multiple staff doing multiple jobs per day and need to manage schedules, dispatch workers and send professional invoices, Jobber is worth the investment.

If you are growing and need both - lead capture from your website and internal job management - you can use QuoteKit for the former and Jobber for the latter. They do not compete for the same function.
